Residency Collaboration

The North Louisiana Arts Interchange, supported by the Ross Lynn Charitable Foundation, is a unique program that fosters creativity and artistic growth. It provides emerging artists with an opportunity to collaborate, exchange ideas, and push the boundaries of their creative endeavors. From the moment I was accepted into this program, I knew that it would be an unforgettable experience.

Within this program, I had the privilege of collaborating with Clifton Haacker, a brilliant PhD research student specializing in Alzheimer's disease. Through our conversations and shared passion for art and science, we decided to create an installation piece that would delve into the intricacies of human identity and self-perception.

"Self Evident" is more than just an artwork; it is an introspective journey that allows viewers to confront their own perceptions of self and others. Within the installation, each of us created a piece of art that represents how we see ourselves, while simultaneously reflecting how we perceive each other. The juxtaposition of our artwork highlights the complexities of identity, and the emotional depth infused into each piece invites viewers to explore their own notions of self.

Experience "Self Evident" firsthand. From August 5th to September 2nd, our installation will be available for public viewing at the Creatives At Work Gallery in Ruston Louisiana. Opening reception is August 5th, 5:30-7:30.
